On a PC you can use the Winamp player: Winamp
Peercast Server is NO LONGER Running
The peercast stream can handle hundreds of listeners, so I encourage all IBC Radio listeners to download and use the Peercast client to listen.
Because of its Peer to Peer (P2P) technology, you will always be able to get a Peercast connection to IBC Radio as long as I'm streaming it and you have enough bandwidth to use it.
Anyone with DSL or other broadband type of connection should be able to use Peercast. FIND US HERE
Update May 15: For you Bela Fleck and the Flecktones fans out there, the group has decided to release some
of their own live recordings. The first is up at etree and is a soundboard recording from November 11, 2003 at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Guest is David Grisman.
Bittorrent Link. I should have some of the tracks on the playlist later today.
Updated April 23, 2005: Both radio streams are running.
I recently added another broadband connection to my office, Verizon Fios.
You can see these blog entries about installation etc.
I had some problems getting it connected with shoutcast, but have gotten that figured out today.
I have upload bandwidth of 2 mb so I should be able to add some more shoutcast listeners.
For now, I've upped the number of listeners to 15.
Please note: I'm no longer using Streamer and instead have chosen to use Peercast for a P2P service.
The main reason is that Peercast has clients for Windows, MacOS and Linux.
IBC Radio Experiment
Update for Mac OS X Listeners (12/04)
For all of you Folk & Bluegrass fans out there using Mac OS X, you can now listen to IBC Radio by downloading the Peercast.org client.
Peercast has clients for Mac OS X, Linux & Windows. Please try it and let me know if it's working okay. Thanks.

IBC Radio Music Store is now operational again.
This is really just a front-end for the amazon.com web site. We've just formatted it a little simpler.
All of the products you can get at amazon, you can get here.
When you buy from our store, you are buying from amazon, but we get a little "cut of the action", so to speak.
So realize, by shopping there, you are helping to support this operation. And thanks!
We also own and operate the Intergalactic Online Shopping Vortex.
If you shop online, please support us by using the Online Shopping Vortex.
Attention Acoustic Artists: If you would like more exposure, send me one or more of your CDs and if I like some tunes I'll get them on the air. Ksenia Mack sent me her new CD and I have some tracks playing now. What a sweet voice she has!
New Artist: Little Toby Walker, an acoustic bluesman, recently sent me a couple of his CDs to sample
and possibly put in rotation. This guy is good! So I put a few of his tunes onto both streams. His guitar technique was learned from several legends of southern blues and is sure to hold your interest. On top of that he has a great sense of humor. Check out "Gimme That Online Religion" from his "Cool Hand" CD for example.
Interesting article in the LA Times by Janis Ian, Don't Sever a High-Tech Lifeline for Musicians
(this link no longer active; check out her web site).
Janis claims, and rightly so, that sales of her music have INCREASED since she began releasing free MP3s
from her website. A link to her article here
Did you hear something you liked?
If you get a hankerin' to buy any of the music played on these stations,
you can get what you need HERE. This is a link to the IBC Radio Online Music Store which we have set up in association with Amazon.com and other online music sources including Guitar Trader and others. Amazon and the other vendors give us a percentage of all sales generated from this web site which helps to support our operation. Did you know you can buy used CDs now at Amazon?. You can also get to vendor links on the sides of this page. We are also now affiliated with eBay
. Bidding on eBay auctions helps support IBC Radio as well when you go to eBay from the links on our page. If you're not already a member, sign up now. Registration is free. Thanks for your help. For more information on how to use ebay, see this eBay Shopping Guide.

New artist
Over on the folk stream, I have added Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer to the rotation. Unfortunately, Dave passed away recently and his talent will be missed.

I have added another stream today. This will play Folk and Bluegrass. I have limited bandwidth, so this stream will play at 32K. It still sounds pretty good. The original 56K stream is going to be Classic Rock type stuff during the week and Jazz on the weekends.

Welcome to my humble site!
I hope you get a chance to listen to some of the Shoutcast broadcast.
I play the tunes I like.
I wish I had more bandwidth, because it seems other people share my tastes in music as well and I'd love to have as many people listen as possible. As it is now, I am broadcasting from a server at home over a broadband cable modem and I can send out only a few streams at a time. Now that I am home, I hope to spend more time and add content to this page as well as expand the listener base and get more tunes in the rotation. You, the listener, can help by supporting IBC Radio. Any donations would help. I am looking at paying live365.com to carry my stream and some other things that cost money. If you would like to help, you can donate through the Paypal link on this page, or if you want to buy stuff at amazon.com or any of the other shopping links that should be appearing soon, click the appropriate link and BUY STUFF. Then I get a percent back from them.
I started this station originally to listen to music at work. We could never get the radio to work well there (office building in downtown Boston) so I set up the shoutcast stream a couple of years ago. I drop a couple hundred tunes into Winamp, put it on random play and that carries me through the day. It's kinda fun to do this. Now it seems I have some regular listeners, and since I'm home now (can you say Lay-off?) I have some time to putter around with it. Update: I'm now self-employed and doing much better than I was before!
If you have any requests, comments, etc. drop me line. An email link is below.
Thanks,
Jim
Software needed to listen: go to
www.winamp.com to download and install WINAMP. This is a free download.
Another link to get on is at Shoutcast,
